Technologies such as biochar and mineral weathering convert atmospheric CO2 into solid rock — locking away carbon for thousands of years.
Enhanced rock weathering (ERW) is a technique aimed at accelerating the natural process of rock weathering to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.
This geoengineering method involves spreading finely ground silicate rocks, such as basalt, over large land areas where chemical reactions with CO2 lead to the formation of stable carbonates. These reactions not only remove CO2 from the atmosphere but also release nutrients, potentially benefiting soil health and agricultural productivity.
Bio-oil carbon removal is an innovative approach to carbon sequestration, which involves converting biomass into a liquid form known as bio-oil and then storing it underground to prevent the carbon it contains from re-entering the atmosphere
The Waste Energy Co-Generation Project utilizes surplus waste gases to generate electricity and steam. This project is energy saving and uses waste energy that would have otherwise been emitted into the atmosphere.
Through this project, approximately 2,306,076 megawatt-hours of electricity will be sent to the power grid, and more than one million tonnes of steam produced will be sent to Hyundai Steel Mill.
Mitigating climate change and reducing the importation of fossil fuels are significant environmental benefits. This project is estimated to reduce emissions by approximately 1,441,680 tonnes of CO2e annually.
The Gujarat Solar Project in India has a capacity of 25 MW that will generate electricity for export to the regional electricity grid under a power purchase agreement with the Gujarat State Electricity Utility (Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited).
This project also contributes to sustainable development by bringing social, economic, environmental, and technological well-being to the area where it is implemented. It has led to local employment in the region, creating direct and indirect economic benefits, development of local infrastructure, and improved electricity generation capacity to the grid.
Trees serve as nature's warriors in the battle against climate change, and Nutrala members aid in the planting of millions of native species annually.
TerraFund for AFR100 is a significant initiative designed to support the restoration of degraded lands across Africa, aiming to revitalize 100 million hectares of land by 2030.
This mission not only aims to counteract land degradation but also addresses the broader impacts of climate change, including reduced crop yields and erratic rainfall, which threaten the livelihoods and environmental stability of millions.
Trillion Trees Australia is a robust community-driven and not-for-profit initiative focused on ecological restoration and combating climate change through extensive tree-planting efforts. Established in 1979 under the inspiration of Richard St Barbe Baker, a pioneer in global forest conservation, the organization has planted over 15 million trees across Australia.
Their work targets not only the restoration of native forests and ecosystems but also emphasizes community engagement and education to foster a deeper connection with nature and promote sustainable practices
Nutrala members assist in the preservation of natural ecosystems such as old growth forests, peat bogs, and mangrove swamps.
The BigCoast Forest Climate Initiative Conserves 40,000 Hectares of Majestic Coastal Forestland throughout Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and Coastal British Columbia.
It avoids future GHG emissions from logging operations across an area featuring some of British Columbia’s oldest trees and important ecosystems, drinking watersheds, and lands with cultural significance to coastal First Nations.
BigCoast will reduce GHG emissions by more than 20 million tonnes of carbon dioxide over the life of the initiative and make an important contribution to the broader regional ecosystem, which is home to bear, elk, salmon, orca, and more.
Nutrala members help prominent policy organizations in advocating for modifications to various systems such as economies, agriculture, infrastructure, power grid, etc. which have an impact on the planet's climate.
CATF advocates for the implementation of new technologies and policies that enable the transition to a net-zero society, with over 25 years of experience, they have become leader in amoungst policy lobying groups.
Carbon180 aims to increase the transparency and accuracy of carbon removal and climate solutions by providing open access to data, tools, and resources.
It works towards promoting scientific integrity and credibility of climate change solutions, which can be used to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Our Climate Portfolio works towards offsetting carbon emissions through a carefully chosen selection of impactful climate projects.
Additionally, a portion of the funds are directed towards policy groups to amplify Nutrala's influence beyond just carbon offsetting.
The portfolio is regularly reviewed and optimized to achieve maximum impact.
